OUR PRODUCT

Maskagrit is a cleaning material for surfaces, widely known as blasting material. It is a material with hardness more than 6 MOH and of high special height (appr.3,6 kg/dm³). It has grains with sharp edges and irregular shape and that’s why it is suitable for the abrasion and cutting of many kinds of surfaces. Maskagrit is environmental friendly and does not harm the human health. It is safe for rejections because it does not release heavy metals or other harmful substances.

Maskagrit is the ideal cleaning material for shipyards (repairs and maintenance), refineries (platforms and terminal stations), marine oil drillings, machines, cranes, railways, restorations (building and monuments), car bodies, chemical and other industries etc.
During the last years, the blasting material cleaning is being used in several new fields and industries, such as in the cement industry, asphalt covering, in nonslip road surfaces etc.

RAW MATERIAL

As raw material for the production of our product is being used metallurgical slag, which is produced during reductive smelting of nickelferrous ores (laterites). Chemically is characterized as slag silicate union of iron, with small contents in aluminum, calcium and magnesium. The slag, after its granulation with a strong steam of water, is being collected and transported in our plant for the following process: washing-drying-fractioning-storage-packing.

GRADING
Maskagrit is available in grain from 0,2 mm to 2,8 mm.

>3,15 mm 0% kg/dm³
>2,8 mm max 10% kg/dm³
>0,2 mm max 5% kg/dm³

  • 0,2 - 1,5 mm. It is recommended for cleaning sensitive surfaces which can be easily injured.
  • 0,2 - 2,8 mm. It is recommended for the cleaning of all kind of surfaces.
  • 1,0 - 2,8 mm. This size, after its use, is being collected and reused (but not after cleaning dyed surfaces because then the material gathers color).

REACTIVITY DATA

There is not any known incompatibility with other material which could cause reaction phenomena. Polymerization is not possible due to the material’s nature. The material is not inflammable and does not cause explosions.

HEALTH

Maskagrit is scentless and does not cause any health risk by inhalation. Typical crystalline silica content is less than 0.1%. Human toxic response has not be demonstrated

Carcinogenicity NTR: No
IARC Monographs (International Agency for Research on Cancer): No

SAFETY & HYGIENE AT WORK

Use material only for the purposes intended and incorporates methods of dust control to maintain airborne dust within federal or local TLV limits. Use appropriate NIOSH certified respiratory protection when exposure limits may be exceeded. Maintain sufficient ventilation to allow visual contact with work surface. Appropriate abrasive blaster’s protective equipment is required, which may also include gloves, hood with protective lens, safety glasses, and hearing protection and appropriate clothing (leather or equivalent).

FIRST AID
In case of :
